Manjushree Trail Race: Elite Runners Set to Battle Across Kathmandu’s Ancient Rim

KATHMANDU – The ridges surrounding the Kathmandu Valley will host the Manjushree Trail Race from April 17 to 19, turning the area into a challenging venue for endurance athletes.

The race will start and finish at Patali Ban Resort in Chandragiri and offers five distances: 100 miles, 80 km, 50 km, 20 km, and 10 km. The course is designed to challenge even experienced runners.

The Path of the Sword

The race follows the legendary route of Manjushree, the deity who, according to tradition, created the valley by cutting through its hills. Organizers announced on Sunday that the event is now a recognized qualifier for the Asian Trail Masters.

“This isn’t just about the clock; it’s about the soil,” noted Race Director Ashish Mishra.

Beyond the Finish Line

Led by Chairman Narayan Acharya, with Jiwan Lama and Sasa Shrestha, the organisers aim to highlight Nepal’s technical trails globally. By engaging local communities and adopting sustainable practices, they aim to establish the valley as a sports destination. The race is set.
