Tresoldi Hat-Trick Shocks Inter Milan on Night of Champions League Chaos

European powerhouses across the continent struggled on Tuesday in the Champions League. Nicolo Tresoldi was in sensational form for Club Brugge, who came from behind to beat Inter Milan 4-3 away. Bayern Munich also lost a late lead in Norway.

Tresoldi opened his account with a penalty in the 30th minute after Hakan Calhanoglu fouled Carlos Forbs. Lautaro Martinez equalised just before the break from a combination between Marcus Thuram and Federico Dimarco. A defensive error between Inter's keeper Josep Martinez and his backline then proved decisive. Forbs drove the ball through the keeper's legs and Tresoldi tapped it in. He completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute. Martinez then scored his second goal seven minutes later, before Romeo Vermant put the result beyond doubt in the closing stages. Ange-Yoan Bonny finished the game with a stoppage-time strike for the home fans. In Norway, Bayern Munich survived a very tough first half before drawing 3-3 with Viking Stavanger. Gianni Stensness headed in a corner to give the hosts the lead in the 2nd minute. Viking equalised on the counter in the 38th minute. Harry Kane got Bayern back on the scoreboard with a penalty in the 54th minute after a VAR review confirmed that Kristoffer Haugen had brought down Konrad Laimer. Kane then headed in the equaliser six minutes later, his 9th consecutive Champions League goal. Luis Diaz put Bayern ahead in the 71st minute, before Michael Olise received his second yellow card three minutes later. Then Herman Johan Haugen made the most of the man advantage to equalise in stoppage time.

Barcelona avoided the same shock in Istanbul, beating Galatasaray 4-1. Batrakov opened the scoring for the hosts in the 28th minute. Galatasaray thought they were two up, but the referee ruled Baris Yilmaz's header offside. Then Cancelo equalised just before the break. In the second half, Lamine Yamal assisted both Fermin Lopez and Anthony Gordon. Adeyemi finished it off. Atletico Madrid broke Manchester United's high line 50 seconds in. Alex Baena broke the line and found Pablo Barrios, who slotted home. Later, Leny Yoro was sent off in the 74th minute for denying Jonathan David a clear chance. Ademola Lookman finished off a rebound five minutes later to give Atletico a 2-0 win.

In London, Arsenal were in full flow, scoring three goals in seven minutes to beat Lille 3-0. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring in the 64th minute, and Eberchi Eze and Bukayo Saka added to the lead to put the game beyond any chance of recovery. Elsewhere, Villarreal beat Napoli 3-1. RB Leipzig edged PSV Eindhoven 1-0 with a late goal from Brajan Gruda. Sabah Baku beat Slavia Prague 2-0, and Sporting defeated Lens 2-0.
