Match No. 3 of the Kakarvitta Champions Cup-2083, played at Kakarvitta Khel Maidan, ended dramatically as Urlabari Morang FT defeated hosts Kakarvitta Youth Club 5-4 in a sudden-death penalty shootout after neither side could find the net in normal time, sending Urlabari through to the semifinals.
Both teams cancelled each other out over two goalless halves, forcing sudden death when the match remained deadlocked in normal time.
Urlabari FC held their nerve in the shootout, with Aashish Karki, Bibek Rai, Kiran Shankar, Oshan Rai, and Jangey Khadka converting, while Rudra Karki missed.
Kakarvitta Youth Club matched them kick for kick, with Sanjay Dhimal, Pujan Neupane, Bishal Thing, and Semanta Thapa finding the net, but misses from Saurav Subba and Raju Darji proved decisive.

Bibek Rai picked up a yellow card in the 80th minute.
Urlabari FC made a single change, bringing on Milan in the 53rd minute, while Kakarvitta Youth Club made three substitutions.
The standout performer on the day was Urlabari Morang FT skipper and goalkeeper Yogesh Dhimal, who was adjudged Man of the Match after denying two Kakarvitta efforts, helping push the tie to the shootout where his side eventually prevailed.
With the win, Urlabari Morang FT advance to the semifinals of the Kakarvitta Champions Cup-2083.
Tomorrow's action will see Redhorse FC (Ilam) face Indian side Kanchanjunga FC (Siliguri) in a cross-border encounter.
